报告摘要:Emerging fast storage devices (e.g., NVM), massive code-base storage software, and large-scale data-intensive applications propose new opportunities and challenges for fault-tolerance and reliability of modern storage hierarchies. In this presentation, I will briefly introduce our group’s recent three-year research outcomes in building fault-tolerance storage systems, which include configuration-rich key-value stores, persistent caching systems, and checkpoint-aware caching systems.
报告人简介:Shaohua Duan is a tenure-track assistant professor in the School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at Washington State University, Pullman. His research focuses on fault-tolerance storage systems (K-V stores, caching systems, HPC storages, and file systems) and making storage systems more robust and reliable. Before joining Washington State University, Shaohua worked at ADSL Lab and received postdoctoral training in fault tolerance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, mentored by Andrea Arpaci-Dusseau and Remzi Arpaci-Dusseau. Shaohua received his PhD from the Computer Science Department at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, guided by Manish Parashar.
