Title: Machine Learning and Deep learning for Living Data Analytics

Speaker:

Professor Steven Hoi

School of Information Systems
Singapore Management University
Singapore

Date December 23, 10:30AM

Venue: Haiyun Admin Building C505

Abstract:

Recent years have witnessed the hype of AI and the booming advance of machine learning and deep learning techniques for a wide range of real-world applications. In this talk I will introduce the fundamentals and frontiers of machine learning, particularly for two kinds of learning techniques, online learning and deep learning. In particular, I will address open challenges of living data analytics with machine learning techniques (especially online learning and deep learning) across different application areas, such as computer vision, visual recognition, multimedia analytics, cybersecurity analytics, healthcare, and beyond.  Finally, I will also introduce job and internship opportunities for students who are looking for machine learning and deep learning job positions in both academia and AI industry.
