On the morning of December 21st 2015, president of the International Medical Informatics Association, professor Park Xuanai, Vice president of the World Medicine and Health Informatics Conference, professor Kaija Saranto, and director of the National Association for Medical Informatics, professor Ding Baofen, accompanied by associate researcher Zhuang Ruzhen from Xiamen Science and Technology Bureau, visited the school. Deputy dean, professor Wang Cheng, principal investigator of the Medical Image Processing team, professor Luo Xiongbiao, and former principal investigator, professor Wang Boliang and team member, assistant professor Wang Liansheng attended the meeting.

Xiamen city has successfully declared to be the host city for The 16th World Medical and Health Informatics conference in 2017. As the preparatory work of the conference, the conference organizers, led by President Park Xuanai, make an investigation of Xiamen city from December 19 – 21. During this period, Professor Park visited our R&D Center for Digital Medical Technology in particular to understand more about related research progress.

Deputy Dean, Wang Cheng firstly welcomed the visiting guests, and then he briefly introduced the basic information of the Xiamen University and the School of Information Science and Engineering. Professor Luo Xiongbiao made an introduction about the research fields and achievements of the team. Professor Park Xuanai showed great interest in the team’s research work. At the end of the meeting, professor Wang and President Park exchanged souvenirs and all the present guests took a group photo to commemorate the meeting.
